The all-girl Asian cricket team breaking records and social barriers
Here, we meet some of the players on the first British all-Asian girls’ cricket team. They first started at a school in Bradford four years ago when the girls’ only experience of cricket was their dads and brothers watching it on TV. In spite of this, they took to the sport like naturals and began winning most of the tournaments they entered. Playing the sport has helped players like Hanfia to overcome problems at school and to bolster her self-esteem, giving her the drive and focus to think of what she wants from life after school.
