Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Dick Whittington… all well known family favourites at Christmas.

For theatres, the pantomime is the most important production of the year. Thousands are spent on getting familiar names into bright costumes and thrilling a family audience.

But there's another strand of pantomime that's increasing in popularity. And they cater for a very different audience, as 91Èȱ¬ Radio Solent's Neil Sackley discovered when he visited The Stage Door in Southampton.
