China official defends Muslim 'education camps'
China's government has issued a strong defence of its use of mass re-education camps for Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province. A regional official, Shohrat Zakir, gave an interview to China's state-run news agency Xinhua, in which he defended the use of "vocational education" centres as a means of preventing terrorism. Dan Damon spoke to Maya Wang, a Senior China Researcher for Human Rights Watch.
