Should we stop tipping altogether and force employers to pay a decent wage?

Theresa May wants new legislation to force shops and restaurants to pass on all tips to their staff. We speak to Broadcaster Liz Kennedy and Journalist Brian Pelan.

You'll remember the public debate earlier this year about those restaurants that were keeping their staff's tips and using them to pay their wages, or skimming off a share for their profits. That came as a surprise to some of the public, because many of us just assume when we leave a tip that it will go to the staff. Jeremy Corbyn has already pledged that a future Labour government would introduce similar legislation to make sure that workers get 100 per cent of all tips. Should staff get their tips or should their wages be increased instead? We speak to Broadcaster Liz Kennedy and Journalist Brian Pelan.
