King of the Sea - The first person to swim the channel seven times
Mervyn Sharp never remembers a time when he couldn't swim.
He once held the record for the most number of swimming crossings of the channel - at 7 - winning him the title of King of the Channel.
The record is now 43, by the way.
He grew up in Weymouth, and now is a man of leisure who enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren.
He spoke to Steve Harris on Breakfast in Dorset.
