Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Clarinet Concerto in A major (Prom 50)

Written for the brilliant Viennese musician Anton Stadler in 1791, initially scored for basset horn, Mozart later rewrote it for the basset clarinet.

Written for the brilliant Viennese musician Anton Stadler in 1791, initially scored for basset horn, Mozart later rewrote it for the basset clarinet. it was completed just two months before Mozart died. The concerto was later published with the solo part adapted for the clarinet rather than the now obsolete basset clarinet.
