As a nation are we getting ruder? Broadcaster and author Danny Wallace has been on a personal quest to challenge society - meeting researchers, and real people all around the world.

Sarah Walker asked him about the problem, and discussed his new book "**** You Very Much."

[On what started it all]

"A hot dog. A hot dog prompted the whole thing. My son wanted one, and right now in that moment everything seemed to be taken care off.

"I walked into a shop, and the woman was furious that we'd turned up. Bear in mind the only reason she'd turned up was to make hot dogs for people like me who wanted one.

"I obsessed about it - I wanted to know what I'd done wrong, what she'd done wrong."
