Poverty in Britain - Somerset & Cardiff
Today correspondent Matthew Price speaks to people around the UK struggling with poverty
There's increasing scientific evidence that children who grow up in stressful circumstances are adversely affected, both mentally and physically. More than four million children live in poverty, which is also playing a role in creating stressful home environments. What does it mean for them, their parents and their future? Our chief correspondent Matthew Price reports from Somerset in the first half of this podcast.
In his second report, Matthew travels to Cardiff, with the latest figures from Wales showing that poverty among older people has increased slightly in the last years. Some are now living in homes they cannot afford to repair and which are becoming uncomfortable to live in.
