Brendan Ingle: more than just a trainer

After his passing aged 77, Mike and Steve remember a boxing legend – Brendan Ingle.

After his passing aged 77, Mike and Steve celebrate the life of Brendan Ingle, a man who had a massive impact on boxing in the UK and particularly in Sheffield. They discuss his roots as an Irish immigrant in the 1950’s, the unique training philosophy he developed at the Wincobank gym, and the four world champions it produced: Herol Graham, “Prince” Naseem Hamed, Johnny Nelson and Kell Brook.

They also remember Dean Francis, the former British super-middleweight champion, who died last week of cancer aged 44, and break down the contrasting performances in world title fights over the weekend of Jamie McDonnell against Naoya Inoue, and Kal Yafai against David Carmona.
