The Royal Navy's new missile defence system
A new defence system costing 拢850m is being introduced - but will it be worth it?
A new missile system to provide protection for the UK's two aircraft carriers is now entering into service. The Sea Ceptors, developed at a cost of around 拢850m and deployed aboard Type 23-frigates, will offer a protective shield against missile attacks for the two carriers. The First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Sir Philip Jones, told Justin Webb why the new technology is so essential to protecting Britain.
