Former official: I never saw Bercow bullying
A former senior House of Commons official has said he never saw any type of bullying behaviour from John Bercow. Robin Fell, who served as a doorkeeper and as deputy Serjeant at Arms in a Parliamentary career lasting almost 50 years, told The Westminster Hour: "It's always been my experience that if you're dealing with someone who you think may not suffer fools gladly, it's probably quite a good idea not to be a fool. Perhaps people are settling old scores that they didn't feel they could settle at the time." When asked by Carolyn Quinn if he ever witnessed behaviour of the kind linked with allegations against the Speaker, he said: "No. Categorically never."
