A former 鈥楿ltra鈥� says that the stabbing of opposition fans is 鈥渁 ritual鈥�, ahead of Liverpool鈥檚 Champions League semi-final second leg in the Italian capital on Wednesday.

Pierluigi Spagnolo told James Horncastle of 5 live's Euro Leagues Football Show podcast about the behaviour.

"Rome is the city of 鈥榩uncicate鈥�, the 'flash stabbing' in Roman slang, often directed at the buttocks of fans who come on their own to the stadium,鈥� he said.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a ritual, a bad ritual, that Roma Ultras repeat also against Italian fans."
