Former 'Ultra' says fan stabbings ‘a ritual’
A former ‘Ultra’ says that the stabbing of opposition fans is “a ritual”, ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final second leg in the Italian capital on Wednesday.
Pierluigi Spagnolo told James Horncastle of 5 live's Euro Leagues Football Show podcast about the behaviour.
"Rome is the city of ‘puncicate’, the 'flash stabbing' in Roman slang, often directed at the buttocks of fans who come on their own to the stadium,” he said.
“It’s a ritual, a bad ritual, that Roma Ultras repeat also against Italian fans."
