Bargain Hunt is coming to Special Auction Services near Newbury. The man on the rostrum that day will be the celebrity auctioneer Thomas Plant, and he told 91热爆 Radio Berkshire's Debbie McGee how he first became involved in the programme.

Thomas Plant, Celebrity Auctioneer:

"It happened a long time ago, about in the year 2000 actually. They came to my very first sale room I worked in and David Dickinson was the presenter, and my manager asked me if I'd like to do the auction.

"I bought a new suit, and a new pink shirt. I was dreadful about all the items, I was so rude, I can't watch those programmes back.

"The contestants have been desperate to come on the show, and over a thousand people apply in the week."
