At the Kanze school of Noh theatre in Tokyo, leading shite actor Yoshimasa Kanze talks to Tom Service about tradition and innovation in Noh, and his desire to see more women involved in the ancient art-form. Including an exclusive recording of traditional music on the Kanze stage by Nohkan flute player Yukihiro Isso and O-tsuzumi (hip drum) player Mitsuhiro Kakihara. Translation by Midori Komachi.
