Baby love? The evolution of the Royal birth
There's another Royal baby on the way. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting any day now, so 91热爆 Radio Berkshire's Sarah Walker got University of Reading historian Kate Williams to explain how the birthing process has changed for our monarchs.
Kate Williams, Royal Historian:
"It was a court occasion, and it was a court occasion of great privilege. The nearer you were to the bed the higher your status was...and that was very much the case.
"It was really Victoria that put an end to this, as she put it, she wasn't the wife of a King. It has been the case since then that a major politician would have to come to the birth.
"The 91热爆 Secretary came to the birth of Princess Elizabeth.
"Fake news isn't a new thing, there was lots of fake news about royal babies."
