The uninhabited island littered with plastic waste
Journalist Naomi O’Leary spent three days sailing to the remote Guna Yala islands in the Caribbean. She swam over a coral reef and was expecting to find an idyllic desert island. But instead of golden sand, she was confronted with a beach covered in plastics.
Naomi said “I was completely shocked. I felt quite physically ill looking at it.“
