On choosing The Undertones, Jonnie said: "I wasn鈥檛 exposed to much great music as a youngster - there was only one record shop in East Belfast and I didn鈥檛 start going into town to Terry Hooley鈥檚 鈥淕ood Vibrations鈥� shop for the better stuff until I was about 14.

I was collecting records at quite a young age though - from about 11 or 12. Even though they treated me quite badly to begin with - enjoying throwing me into ditches, gobbing on my back, trapping me in sewer pipes and 鈥渨edgie-ing鈥� me constantly - I did get to know a lot of local punks and they鈥檇 let me have records for cheap off them if they wanted money for booze or fags. I could get singles for 50p usually鈥� this is something from that time."

JD Twitch says that Hawkwind's Space Ritual may be "The best live album ever recorded? Definitely the live album I have spent the most time listening to going away back to when I was a teenager. It is a 90 minute monolithic, hypnotic beast and a towering pinnacle of space rock repetition. Never boring, endlessly invigorating, I can always tell when I have perhaps had one light refreshment too many as I will find myself cranking this to the max at stupid o鈥檆lock."
