100 Years of Women: Art and Architecture
We are celebrating the 10 most influential women of the past 100 years
To mark 100 years since some women won the right to vote we're launching a Today survey of the most influential British woman in the past century. The Representation of the People Act of 1918 gave about 40% of women the right to vote for the first time and paved the way for the introduction of universal suffrage 10 years later. In the first of 10 discussions leading up to the anniversary on February 6th we discuss art and architecture.
You will be able to vote on our website during the course of the programme on February 6th for who you think was (or is) the most influential woman of the past hundred years.
