An American President at war with the press. Not another Donald Trump story - but a much older one, the 1971 battle between Richard Nixon and newspapers who had got the leak of the government's own top-secret account of the Vietnam War known as the Pentagon Papers. The documents revealing how successive administrations had lied about the war. Steven Spielberg's latest film is The Post, telling the story of how the Washington Post followed the New York Times in challenging the White House for the right to publish. Our special correspondent James Naughtie sat down with Steven Spielberg to talk about the film, which he sees brimming with contemporary significance.
