Has Brexit changed political alignment?
The division between those who identify as social liberals and those who identify as social conservatives in the wake of Brexit has become more important in predicting how people will vote, said Professor John Curtice.
The psephologist told Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn that in this year's general election: "It is still about left and right, but the crucial thing is in the wake of the election in June, it is no longer just about left and right."
Journalist and former MP Matthew Parris looked at the importance of the centre ground in deciding election results.
