Loxley Silver Band: The Lost Brass Bands of Sheffield
Secretary of the Loxley Silver Band, Stuart Young, on the brass band scene in Sheffield, past and present.
Loxley Silver Band was established in 1889 in Loxley Methodist Church, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
They have continued to play without a break through two World Wars.
Musicians range from 10-80 years old, and they are now looking at ways of re-imagining their sound and making elements of it more contemporary.
