The “good bacteria” found in pro- and pre-biotics have cut deaths from sepsis in Indian babies by 40%. The man behind the study, Pinka Panigrahi, from the University of Nebraska, explains why treatment was needed to protect infants from the serious condition of sepsis, which often kills quickly.
