Berkshire's very own Transplant World Champion

Stuart Robbins from Pinkney's Green claimed Gold in the Badminton event at this year's Transplant Games, adding that to nearly twenty other medals won in national and international competitions.

He nearly died following complications after birth, and needed a bowel transplant at ten years old. He told 91热爆 Radio Berkshire's Bill Buckley about taking up competitive sport.

Stuart Robbins:

"I went to my first one (Transplant Games) in 2011 in Belfast, it's like the Olympics...there's a very wide range of events and the ages go from 0-5 to 70+"

"I was doing Badminton and Table Tennis at the first one. I've won more than twenty now.

"I've got a few friends from Canada, one from Thailand, that I see every time we compete.

"The longer that I have this bowel the longer it looks like I will have it for life."
