The founder of Stroud-based green energy company Ecotricity has launched a bid to have a place on the board of a rival firm.

Dale Vince wants to become a non-executive director of the Good Energy Group - which is one of his main competitors. But the firm says the plan would be 'unworkable' and would present conflicts of interest.

He has already bought a 25 per cent stake in the company - thought to be worth 9 million pounds.
