"An ambulance can't be on every street corner"

91热爆 Radio Berkshire's Sarah Walker met Gary and Barry from the Swallowfield First Responders, a group of volunteers who look after a patient before the emergency services arrive.

Gary Clark:

"It's chest pains, heart attacks, breathing difficulties, anybody who is fitting. We will attend anything that has been diagnosed as a red call by the ambulance service.

"An ambulance can't be on every street corner... most of the ambulances can be stuck at A&E."

Barry Davis:

"It's down to the individual, you can volunteer for one or two hours a day, or as we do in Swallowfield you can volunteer for the whole day - from 8am in the morning till 10pm at night."
