Northamptonshire County Council have decided to reduce the opening hours of the County Record office for free access to the archive service from all day on three days a week and one Saturday a month, to mornings only. They say it is due to budget pressures. And they want to charge 拢31.50 an hour to use it outside these times. But 3,000 people have signed a petition against the changes.
