Chair of NHS confederation and the former Chancellor talk about the public sector pay cap
Boris Johnson has become the latest senior cabinet minister to apply pressure on the chancellor and the Prime Minister to end the public sector pay cap.
'The National Health Service is going to need to be able to recruit, retain and motivate the staff who deliver the services', says the chair of the NHS confederation and former Health Secretary, Stephen Dorrell.
Former Chancellor of the exchequer, Lord Lamont says 'Public sector pay is on average higher than the private sector pay, and is roughly half of the public expenditure and needs control' Lord Lamont.
