How is the World Bank helping Angola move forward?
The World Bank recently gave the Angolan Government a loan to fund a statistics bureau because, after decades of war, institutions are weak and accurate information on population size or GDP is hard to come by.
Adding fuel to the fire is the drop in the oil price. The oil sector accounts for 70% of Angolan exports and everything from the budget to foreign exchange depends on oil receipts.
