Councillor buys speed gun for buses
A local politician is so concerned buses are speeding on a guided busway that she's taken the matter into her own hands.
Liberal Democrat city councillor Zoe O'Connell purchased her own radar gun to check speeds on a section of the tracks near Cambridge Railway Station.
On the day of testing, readings suggested more than 95% of buses on a 15mph section were speeding.
There have been a number of crashes on the guided busway in recent months, at least one of which was caused by excessive speed.
Stagecoach said the speed gun was "not a credible source of data."
