The Bank of England says it would take some action to curb lending
The Bank of England thinks there is a danger we are all borrowing too much and has decided to try and do something about it.
On Tuesday, the Bank released its financial stability report - or rather the Financial Policy Committee's report - in which it warned about the build up of consumer debt, and said it would take some action to curb lending.
The Bank of England's Deputy Governor for Financial Stability Sir Jon Cunliffe, from a very noisy Durham university, told Dominic O'Connell why the Bank was acting now.
