Up to 100 students were evacuated from Cambridge colleges after a "suspicious" briefcase was found in the city centre.

A police cordon was set up on King's Parade on Monday evening after the item was reported to officers.

Students from three nearby Cambridge University colleges, including Gonville and Caius, were evacuated to a bar until the situation was made safe.
