Sufferer of MS walking to inspire daughter
Nicky Maxey was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 41, now she hopes to teach her daughter the importance of not giving up by tackling a 100km hike along The RIdgeway.
The race starts in Teign, Oxfordshire on 16th July and ends at Avebury Stone Circle the following day.
Barbury Castle is about 17 miles from the finish, so it's a good place for Nicky to train especially with its hills.
Walking's helped Nicky deal with multiple sclerosis. She says she's lucky because the MS doesn't affect her legs so much but she's no way of knowing how the illness will progress.
Her neurologist told her the best treatment was for her to stay fit and healthy so she decided to do just that.
