Sound Walk soundscape: Water and birdsong
We鈥檙e in Capel-y-ffin, a tiny hamlet in Brecon Beacons National Park whose name translates as "chapel of the boundary". Just beside this gently babbling stream lies the chapel; the English-Welsh border is just a few hundred metres away.
Birds sing in the woods nearby as water rushes over the flat, slippery stones of the stream bed. It's a brief moment of serenity before we begin our ascent to the Black Mountain ridge, where Offa's Dyke path runs along the ancient border.
This soundscape is part of Sound Walk, an immersive, 鈥渟low radio鈥 experience of the British countryside with Horatio Clare. Listen to the programme via the Radio 3 website or on the 91热爆 iPlayer Radio app.
