As the rich and powerful gather at meetings like the World Economic Forum for Africa, it's sometimes difficult to see how the interests of the vast majority of the world's population is represented. But there are voices that constantly seek to prod consciences and influence agendas, such as Winnie Byanyima, Executive Director of Oxfam International.

She has pointed out that wealth does not trickle down and that the eight richest people in the world - all of them men - have as much wealth as the poorest 3.6bn people.
