Savage: I stood up to Toshack's food changes
Former footballer Robbie Savage tells Matthew recounts the time he stood up to Wales manager John Toshack's decision to change the food served to the squad.
John Toshack became the manager of Wales after Mark Hughes left the role to become the boss at Blackburn Rovers.
Savage said: "The nutrition, the training, the sports science, it had developed and Mark Hughes developed it with us so all the food was brilliant.
"I remember Mr Toshack came in and changed the food instantly. It was fried bananas and the chicken was dry."
The midfielder explained the number of choices offered to players was reduced from ten to one.
"I was the one who spoke up, nobody else said a word."
