Online pharmacy suspended after prescription in 17 seconds

Suspended online pharmacy 'welcomes' decision from health watchdog

Four private online pharmacies have been strongly criticised by the English health watchdog, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). One of them was rated as so poor it has been suspended. Suspended online pharmacy "Dr Matt" in one particular case issued a prescription in 17 seconds.

Professor Steve Field, chief inspector of general practice at the CQC says they are "taking urgent action and will not waver" in their role of protecting patients.

Dr Helen Webberley, a GP and responsible manager of 鈥淒r Matt鈥, says she "welcomes" the decision the CQC has made because there are "rogue pharmacies out there".
