Our interviews with Sir John Hurt
Sir John Hurt spent the last few years of his life living in North Norfolk, just outside of East Runton, near Cromer.听, on January 25 2017.
While living on the North Norfolk coast, Sir John was kind enough to speak to us here at 91热爆 Radio Norfolk, his local radio station, on several occasions.
In May 2012, he bumped into听's Thordis Fridriksson at the Chelsea Flower Show, and stopped for a chat!听
A couple of months later, he came into the 91热爆 in Norwich and spoke to听听about his involvement with the charity Project Harar.听
In January 2013, John Hurt was听. After the ceremony, he spoke to 91热爆 Radio Norfolk's Paul Hayes - and good-naturedly took Paul to task over whether or not he always played characters with miserable and unhappy lives!听
In February 2014, he spoke to听听about his involvement with another charity endeavour, the Cinema Plus project.听听
Later that year, he took part in a special performance at the Theatre Royal in Norwich to mark the centenary of the beginning of the First World War. He spoke to our听听presenter Matthew Gudgin about the piece, called "To End All Wars".听
He became Sir John Hurt after听, and in January that year he spoke to Stephen Bumfrey about how it felt to now be Sir John.听
