"I never expected to have nine songs in the Top Ten in my life" - Ed Sheeran on his domination of the Top 40
"I don't know if something's gone wrong, but I'm definitely very happy about it. I think they are going to be changing how it charts from now on." Ed Sheeran has the fastest selling male artist album of all time, but despite Divide's success he questions how the charts are compiled, and believes that should change.
All 16 songs from Ed's album Divide - which is No 1 - are in the Top 20.
In response to Ed's comments and Divide's success Martin Talbot, Managing Director of the Official Charts Company, says they will review how the charts are put together, but that is something they do all the time; "We shouldn't, and won't, rush to any knee-jerk actions. Divide confirms what has been a fantastic few weeks for British music, and Ed Sheeran has just confirmed himself as The King."
