“Mars hits the sweet spot for curiosityâ€
Why does Mars in particular pique our curiosity? Psychologists have found that we’re most curious when we know something about a subject, but not too much. It’s the known unknown – the gap in our knowledge. It’s called the information gap theory of curiosity. The man behind it is Professor George Loewenstein of Carnegie-Mellon University.
