The former prime minister of Ukraine discusses the relationship between the US and Russia
One of the big questions surrounding the Trump presidency is how close the United States might become with Russia. There is a fear that Washington might effectively abandon Ukraine.
In March 2014, Russia annexed Crimea and there is still fighting between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian forces in the eastern part of the country.
The former prime minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk told John Humphrys the country had received "positive" signals but it was important to know "where President Trump stands".
