Orton's What the Butler Saw 'ahead of its time'

How the play What the Butler Saw challenged public attitudes to homosexuality

What the Butler Saw, created by the playwright Joe Orton, is being staged at the Curve Theatre in Orton's home town of Leicester.

Orton was killed by his gay lover in 1967, the same year that homosexuality was made legal.

Joe Orton's sister Leonie Orton, talks to our Midlands correspondent Sima Kotecha, about how Orton remains an iconic figure who challenged public attitudes towards homosexuality through his plays.
