More shops at leisure park gets approval
Planners have approved proposals to expand the Rushden Lakes shopping and leisure development.
The latest planning application has 36 shops and 18 restaurants, 1,900 car parking spaces, and the cinema would have 14 screens instead of 12.
That's an extra eight shops and 500 car park spaces, but the planned hotel and leisure club would not be built.
The developers say Rushden Lakes, once completed, will create 3,760 jobs.
The plans were backed by all fourteen councillors at East Northamptonshire Council, with none against and no abstentions.
