President Donald Trump has announced his nominee for the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch.

This comes after he fired his acting attorney-general, Sally Yates, who had ordered Justice Department lawyers not to enforce the president's travel restrictions in court, saying she wasn't convinced they were legal.

Michael Chertoff, former director of homeland security, former federal judge for the US Court of Appeals and former US assistant attorney general, discusses with John what he made of the nomination and the politics surrounding it.
