Sara Cox: Country Sounds of the '80s

Sara crosses the Atlantic to discover the biggest country names of the decade including The Judds, Randy Travis and Garth Brooks

At the start of the 1980s country music was being dominated by pop-country from acts like Dolly Parton and Eddie Rabbit but by 1985 the audiences were tiring of that style and they began to embrace a new breed of traditional artists including Dwight Yoakam and Randy Travis.

During this hour Sara brings us a flavour of those changes as she discovers some of the biggest country names of the decade.
