Comedian and country music lover Susan Calman guides us through the laughs that can be found within country music. From the wry smiles and wistful wisdom, to the explicit jokes and tales of misfortune, comedy has long been a trademark of country music from a surprising range of artists.

The laughs don鈥檛 just come from some of the fabulous song titles and one-liners, but also from the way songwriters approach the subjects of their songs. As with all comedy, these songs reach outwards to the listener for empathy and a response, rather than simply looking inwards in a way that no other genre quite manages.
