Will we get a white Christmas?

Dr Rob Thompson from the University of Reading's Meteorological Centre has the latest.

"When we have snow in the UK it tends to be right on that cusp of it's about freezing, being wrong on the temperature by one degree is the difference between snow and rain.

"The best way to get a lot of snow, especially in the South East, is to get cold air trapped.

"This time of year there's very little sunlight...it's depressingly dark outside already."
