The changing face of Newbury
Local historian Tony Higgott has been chronicling the history of the town.
Tony Higgott:
"Newbury is in a very good position...it's on a sort of crossroads and a river crossing, and it's in the middle of the country.
"In the 1960s it was still really a market town.
"I think the big change really was with the road network change, when the relief road was build in the 1960s that took a lot of the traffic off the main shopping streets."
