The fate of Coln House Special School in Fairford is to be decided today. No children have attended the school since the summer.

The 29 students - who at the time were aged between 9 and 16 and all have special educational needs - were all removed from Coln House in July, following an OFSTED report citing "safety concerns".

These concerns were largely over the high number of incidents of pupils being physically restrained and insufficient health and safety training for staff.

Today, Gloucestershire County Council will recommend that the facility be closed.
