Seb’s story, told by Matt Baker

This is Seb’s story, told by Matt Baker.

Seb and his twin brother are crazy about sport and Seb has always been very competitive.

One Sunday afternoon in April 2014, when they were just 9, they played in their first ever rugby tournament. It was a great experience for them both but what happened next changed everything.

On the way home Seb fell from the coach while it was travelling at 60mph. His Dad was on board with them and was first to reach Seb on the road.
Seb was lucky to survive but had to have his right leg amputated and was put in an induced coma. His family were told he had sustained brain injuries and to expect him to be a different boy.

After 4 months in hospital they were told the The Children’s Trust would be able to help Seb with his recovery.

91Èȱ¬ Children in Need support the rehabilitation activities which Seb was keen to engage with. By December 2014 he had made a vast improvement and was eventually able to return home.

Seb is now back at school with his twin brother Ben and they’re both busy finding new ways to compete against each other again.
