The iconic headwear could be making a comeback in the Thames Valley.

Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld:

"The vast majority of police forces, especially those in major cities retain their police helmets."

"It does make police officers very much more visible to the public. People can see them better."

"One of the criticisms is that people don't see policemen."

"We're going to do a trial, starting in Reading, and if the public like it we'll expand it."
